Street art in Sai Kung

Today, we will explore the colourful makeover of the streets at Sai Kung town centre.

Sai Kung is a seaside neighbourhood, boasting some top-quality seafood restaurants, a lot of little cafes, a beautiful waterfront with art and live music culture.

We came across the artsy side of this town in one of our visits to Sai Kung town in 2021 when the HK Walls street art and mural festival was hosted.

Around 22 artists turned the buildings' walls and alleyways into amazing (and legal) graffiti and street art. HK Walls is a non-profit organisation giving opportunities to local and international artists to showcase their talents. 2021 street art and mural festival took place between 8-16 May 2021.

To get a quick glimpse of what the art murals look like, check out our video below…

You can easily spend a day here exploring different restaurants, taking a quick kaito (locally run boat ride) to Sharp Island and many such nearby islands, doing an art walkthrough, outdoor sports such as kayaking and snorkeling, and wrapping up with a nice stroll at the waterfront promenade.
