Art Lane in Hong Kong
When you think of Hong Kong, the first thing that comes to your mind is the tall sky scrapper buildings, stunning skyline, fast-moving urban life, but not a city with a vibrant artistic hub. This picture is changing now with the new art culture taking off.
If you have already seen our Sai Kung, street art blog - you know what we mean!
We came across another such project, ‘ARTLANE’ located at Sai Ying Pun on Hong Kong Island. This exciting, urban artsy project was initiated by Henderson Land (property development and land management), where more than 10 art pieces have transformed the building walls and alleyways into a tiny ‘mural village’.
To get a quick glimpse of what the art murals look like, check out our video below…
Getting Here
From Sai Ying Pun MTR take exit B3 and right outside you will see a beautiful Art Lane Mural by Neil Wang
Walk along from Ki Ling Lane, Shek Chan Lane to Chung Ching Street, in Sai Ying Pun you will find the artwork on display around the area.
Also opposite the mural of Bruce Lee there is a shop on the corner known as ‘a nice place to’ and they have some really nice products and alongwith a few crafty workshop options. Do check them out when in this area and below is artwork/map created by them inside their shop.
Artists
I have tagged the artists and their Instagram handles where you can follow their artwork - Riitta Kuisma, Elsa Jeandedieu, Ceet Fouad, Neill Wang, Zue Chan, Blessy Man, Noble Wong, Amandeep Rao, and more…
This project brings together international and local artists to give the neighborhood a unique artistic face based on the theme of art and music of Soho. So if you are looking for some creative and artistic inspiration, or just want to admire and support the artist Sai Ying Pun Artlane is the place on your must-visit list.
